To be eligible for induction a person must have participated in the show hunter industry for a minimum of 15 years. They must have distinguished themselves, and their horses, by virtue of their achievements and contributions to further the history and tradition of our sport.
For a horse to be eligible for induction, it must have distinguished itself in show hunter competition and have been retired.

The National Show Hunter Hall of Fame is announcing that next year there will be a permanent change of the day of the Induction Dinner Ceremonies.
After consulting with exhibitors, owners, trainers, riders and spectators, the dinner will now be held on WEDNESDAY rather than on Tuesday. The reason for this change is to allow anyone who is interested in attending the induction dinner more time after the hunter classes finish.
The induction ceremony will take place on WEDNESDAY, May 28, 2025 at the Merion Cricket Club in Haverford Pennsylvania.
